Championships! Parades! Tailgate booze fests! It seems like sports fans are always having all the fun. But what about those of us who prefer a well-crafted mystery or a clever period drama? Where’s our competition worthy of eating guacamole and guzzling shots on a truck bed?

Questions like these inspired us to create the Drama World Series, a three-week bracket smackdown between eight of your most beloved television shows. The victor will get an all-day marathon on KQED PLUS on Sunday, October 29, 2017.

Representing Poldark, Ross is shirtless (when isn’t he?) and ready to rumble:

But don’t count out Victoria. Have you seen her crumple a piece of paper to death?

Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries’ namesake is armed, dangerous, and open to stabbing her opponent, if need be:

Sherlock is understandably scared, but ready to kick his way to victory:

Don’t let Anne of Green Gables’ youthful innocence fool you. She will smash something over your head:

But Downton Abbey’s Dowager Countess would very much like to see her try:

Like Ross Poldark, Grantchester’s Sidney is also hoping his shirtlessness gives him an advantage:

That doesn’t impress Prime Suspect’s Jane Tennison much:

So step up to the plate and vote for your favorite in this first round of matchups!

Make sure to come back on Monday to find out the results and vote in Round 2! Need to kill time between now and then? Catch up on our recaps of Poldark, Victoria, and Downton Abbey!
