Many people are very thankful that our first rainfall of the season was heavier than expected.

Mount Tamalpais received the most rain last night but, more importantly, much of Napa and Sonoma counties got about a half-inch of rain.

After the devastating fires and tough battle to contain the fires, the rain will go a long way toward tamping down the deadly blazes.
