School District Arms With Semi-Automatic Rifles
The nation's capital was riveted this week by emotional testimony for and against stronger gun control measures. In Sacramento Wednesday, a group of Republican state lawmakers introduced legislation that would allow school districts to use education funds for training school staff on gun use. Now, a school district in the Southern California city of Fontana is already arming its police with semiautomatic rifles.

Immigration was a big issue this week in Washington, with Congress entering the early stages of figuring out what to do about the 11 million people in the U.S. without documents. About 10 percent of those people arrived as children.
