Stand depicts South LA residents using krump dancing to take a stand and is part of the episode Truly CA Shorts: State of Discovery, which features five short films exploring the California experience.

It Came from Kuchar

By the 1960s, twins George and Mike Kuchar were shaping the underground film scene alongside Andy Warhol and Kenneth Anger. It Came from Kuchar interweaves the brother's lives, their admirers and a 'greatest hits' of Kuchar clips into a hilarious and moving tale.

Witch Hunt

Sean Penn narrates Witch Hunt, a startling indictment of the American justice system. Dozens of innocent, working class parents in Bakersfield, California are wrongly convicted of child molestation as a result of severe misconduct and "cowboy law enforcement" perpetuated under the watch of Kern County's District Attorney in the 1980s.



The people of Darwin, CA (population 35) coexist without government, a church, jobs or children. Together with their fellow outsiders and eccentrics, they enjoy the freedom of isolation in California's Death Valley.

Bob and the Monster

In this story of a rise and fall from fame, rock musician Bob Forrest's life-threatening struggle with heroin addiction and his transformation into a drug counselors is profiled. Bob and the Monster features interviews with Courtney Love and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Last Fast Ride: The Life, Love and Death of a Punk Goddess

Narrated by Henry Rollins, Last Fast Ride: The Life, Love and Death of a Punk Goddess tells the story of Marian Anderson, the lead singer of The Insaints. She reigned as one of San Francisco's most provocative and controversial lead singers of the '90s, but her personal demons ultimately led to her untimely demise.

A Brush with the Tenderloin

What happens when a soft-spoken artist decides to paint a fanciful mural on one of San Francisco's diciest street corners? A colorful collection of locals interact with artist Mona Caron and end up playing key roles in the mural's evolution in A Brush with the Tenderloin.
