A View from the Window follows a day in the life of students at the California School for the Deaf. Taking viewers through a journey that includes playing in the school yard, learning about race and identity and how crayfish survive in the wild A View From the Window takes audiences back to school and educates through a day of learning, diversity and inclusion.

 

Director Bios Azar Kafaei is an independent filmmaker from Tehran, Iran. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Yale University, and is currently an MFA candidate at Stanford's documentary filmmaking program.

Chris Filippone is an independent filmmaker from Philadelphia whose work has been screened in Visions du Réel, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Palm Springs Shortfest, The Guardian, and The Walker Art Center. His most recent film, "Scrap," won the Spirit Award for Short Documentary at the Brooklyn Film Festival. He has also received support from MiND TV, the Bread and Roses Fund, as well as a Telluride Student Symposium Fellowship. He currently attends the MFA Documentary Film and Video Program at Stanford University.
