The California Report is now being carried by KUNR, Reno Pubic Radio

June 14, 2018, San Francisco, CA — KQED’s premiere statewide daily news program The California Report (TCR) announced to new listeners this week tuning in on KUNR, Reno Public Radio. The new carriage is part of a sustained period of growth for the morning service hosted by John Sepulvado. This is the first time the show will be regularly heard in communities beyond California’s borders through a station based in a neighboring state.

TCR is the only statewide daily news program focused on social, political and cultural issues of wide relevance in California with reporters based in San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Fresno, and Los Angeles. KUNR now features TCR’s morning service weekdays at 5:31 a.m.

TCR produces and airs stories from across California with two fast-paced broadcasts each weekday morning and a 30-minute weekend program. Hosted by Sasha Khokha, The California Report Magazine takes audiences on a road trip for the ears with sound-rich storytelling that explores the people and places that make the Golden State unique.

The California Report launched in 1995 and now reaches 45 stations in more than 80 communities across California and Reno. Two other stations KVMR in Grass Valley and KCOD in the Coachella Valley will also pick up The California Report this summer. TCR has an average weekly audience of over 700,000 listeners, as well as a skyrocketing podcast audience of over 370,000 downloads per month for the weekday edition and an additional 50,000 downloads per month for the California Report Magazine version.

KUNR, Reno Public Radio broadcasts from the University of Nevada, Reno and boasts a listenership of more than 50,000 weekly listeners throughout Northern and Eastern Nevada and along the California’s Eastern Sierra.

The California Report Expands Beyond State Lines
