KQED Wins 8 Northern California Emmy® Awards

Emmy AwardFollowing an impressive 17 nominations, KQED has been honored with eight Northern California Emmy® Awards, including Best Topical Documentary. The 45th Emmy® ceremony, held Saturday, June 4 at the SFJAZZ Center, honored excellence in all fields of television and online production. Among the KQED productions honored were Books and Bullets, a three-part online news feature  examining how violence impacts the lives of children and teachers in some Oakland neighborhoods; a QUEST special “Self-Driving Cars: The Road Ahead,” investigating how self-driving cars are sparking new opportunities and challenges and Welcome to West Oakland, a news video exploring the changing West Oakland neighborhood.
