Picnic on Third offers tastes of series’ dishes on Wednesday, March 23

SAN FRANCSCIO – March 8, 2016 – KQED will help celebrate the second season of Joanne Weir Gets Fresh with a menu inspired by the award-winning cooking teacher, author, restaurateur, and television personality on March 23, 2016 at Picnic on Third. Joanne Weir will be in attendance with her new cookbook, Kitchen Gypsy, for sale and signing from 11am-1pm.

Chefs Natalia Bushyager and Leigh Loper from Picnic on Third will curate the menu to reflect the dishes and the adventure from Joanne Weir Gets Fresh. From fishing boats to farms and butcher shops, the very best provisions are selected for recipes Weir takes on in her San Francisco kitchen.

“This season has been a true joy for me,” says Weir. “I feel lucky to have gone on an incredible adventure to create the dishes featured this season. I can’t wait to see Natalia and Leigh’s renditions of those recipes.”

“We’re such huge fans of Joanne’s,” adds Lisa Landi, KQED’s director of program distribution for KQED Presents. “We’re excited Picnic on Third wants to celebrate the series with the community and share in her love of fresh ingredients and the meals she makes with them.”
