New York – May 11, 2011 – The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards. Travelscope’s Zebediah Smith is nominated for an Emmy® in the Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Photography category. With 52 episodes currently in release to public television stations and another 13 episodes poised for release next month, Travelscope host and executive producer, Joseph Rosendo, is delighted and honored by this professional recognition that Travelscope has received for the second consecutive year. “It’s a privilege to be so distinguished by our industry peers again. About Zebediah Smith

With a background in theater, writing, and photography, Zebediah Smith found an immediate synthesis of art forms with film. He took on roles in production and post-production working in the worlds of commercial, television, narrative, and documentary. Focusing on the power of documentary to make social impact as well as create dramatic stories his production company, Open Jaw Productions, produced the award-winning feature documentary, WHATEVER IT TAKES, which aired on Independent Lens in 2010.

Smith joined Travelscope in 2007 as director of photography and editor and has shot and edited 17 Travelscope episodes. Smith is an integral part of Travelscope lending his creativity and skill to all Travelscope productions in his role as Post Production Supervisor.
