MTT to post from his rehearsals and performance at Carnagie Hall in celebration of MTT Weekend on KQED!

With three extraordinary programs celebrating the heritage, career and music of the San Francisco Symphony’s Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas, MTT Weekend on KQED (March 29–April 1) is every music lover’s dream. And to add to the excitement, KQED is handing off its social media accounts to MTT on March 29 for MTT Takeover: Carnegie Hall Edition.” Follow KQED on Facebook and Twitter to get up-to-the-minute accounts of MTT’s rehearsal and performance at Carnegie Hall that night!

The three KQED 9 programs that are part of MTT Weekend on KQED are:

  • Great Performances: The Thomashefskys: Music and Memories of a Life in the Yiddish Theater. MTT celebrates the legacy of his grandparents Boris and Bessie Thomashefsky, the legendary performers of the Yiddish theater. Thursday, March 29, at 8pm.
  • Great Performances: SF Symphony Centennial Gala Concert.  Amy Tan hosts the Orchestra’s star-studded Centennial Season opening Gala concert Friday, March 30, at 9pm.
  • San Francisco Symphony at 100: This compelling documentary tells the story of the orchestra’s century of musical highlights and community impact.  Narrated by Amy Tan. Sunday, April 1, 12noon.
