In their brand new video for "Revolution Radio," Green Day pays tribute to Berkeley's famed punk rock venue / community center, 924 Gilman Street, by performing inside the heavily graffiti-ed space and splicing in footage of them playing Gilman in the band's early days.
Which is particularly heart-warming because, back when Green Day first signed to a major label in 1993, Gilman banned the band on account of them being corporate sellouts. Billy Joe, Tré, and Mike were eventully allowed back for a show in 2001 (best YouTube comment: "I wonder if this concert felt weird for them, like meeting your ex girlfriend for coffee five years later"), then played a benefit show there for AK Press in 2015.
In the mid-'90s, nobody thought this video would ever happen, so enjoy!
