Senator Feinstein Calls for Investigation of Santa Anita Horse Deaths

There's been a lot of media attention around the 23 horse deaths over the past few months at Santa Anita racetrack, near Los Angeles. Senator Dianne Feinstein wrote a letter to the California Horse Racing Board earlier this month calling for a suspension of racing until an investigation is completed, but the board doesn't actually have the authority to stop the races.
