California is leading the charge against the Trump administration's national emergency declaration, joining 15 other states in filing a lawsuit that calls the move unconstitutional.

On Friday, President Trump declared a national emergency in order to bypass congressional appropriations and tap into billions of dollars for a border wall.

On Monday, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced the suit, saying, "We’re suing President Trump to stop him from unilaterally robbing taxpayer funds lawfully set aside by Congress for the people of our states."
