Almost all new homes in California will be required to have solar energy, after a state commission approved building standards this week that are the first of their kind in the country.

The federal judge overseeing a PG&E probation agreement is asking the California attorney general whether the utility might be held criminally liable in the wake of the deadly Camp Fire in Butte County. At least 85 people died in the fire and another 6 remain unaccounted for.

After a more than a three-week delay, Dungeness crab fishermen off the Sonoma coast will begin casting nets on December 8. Delays have plagued California's commercial crab season in recent years, and fishermen want the fossil fuel industry to compensate them for their losses.
