The County fire in Yolo and Napa counties has burned more than 70,000 acres at last count. But the official evacuation centers KQED visited Monday were quiet.

One Hour Inside an Immigration Court

In San Diego, the number of prosecutions of illegal border crossers doubled in June. This is where Operation Streamline, a fast-track procedure to speed up the number of convictions, will be rolled out in the coming weeks. Protesters showed up in court Monday and in the streets to oppose the new approach. KQED spent an hour inside the court, to see what it’s like.
