Tens of Thousands of Californians Protest Immigration Policy

Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets all over the country on Saturday -- tens of thousands in California -- to protest the Trump administration's zero tolerance policy toward immigrants.

For all the debate about immigration and the border, it comes down to this: There are kids inside facilities who are not with their families. We hear from a couple of people outside a shelter for unaccompanied minors in east San Diego County who feel deeply about what’s happening.

Orange County Struggles With How to Address Homelessness

The budget Gov. Jerry Brown signed last week includes new money to help address homelessness. But at the local level, it's a struggle to set up new support services. Sometimes the resistance comes from the proposed neighbors; sometimes from politicians who don't want to upset them. In May, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti was quoted as saying Orange County is "a few years behind” L.A. in getting to the point where officials are willing to insist, over public objections. That didn't sit well with Orange County Supervisor Todd Spitzer, who fired back in a Los Angeles Times op-ed.
