Central Valley Town Mourns Deaths of Illegal Immigrant Couple Who Fled ICE Agents
A few weeks ago, Santos Hilario Garcia and his wife Marcelina were on the road looking for field work in the Bakersfield area. When a vehicle came up from behind and flashed its lights, Santos pulled over. But when immigration agents appeared, he sped off. The couple was in the U.S. without papers. Minutes later the SUV flipped and smashed into a pole. The couple was killed. Mourners are gathering later today at a church in the town of Delano.
