Los Angeles Barred from Enforcing Most Gang Injunctions

Late last week a federal court ordered the city of Los Angles to do away with gang injunctions for around 1,500 people. Injunctions work like restraining orders, barring people suspected of gang ties from going into certain neighborhoods or socializing with known gang members. Opponents of these restraining orders hope this move could mean the end of the controversial practice.

Some Orange County Homeless Could Get Extended Motel Stays

This week will be a major test for Orange County’s ambitious attempt to move some 700 homeless people from encampments along the Santa Ana Riverbed into motels, temporarily, and then into more permanent shelter. In the coming days, most will reach the end of their 30-day motel stays guaranteed by the county in a settlement.

The actress, now 101 years old, is embroiled in a lawsuit around Catherine Zeta Jones’ portrayal of her in the FX Television series "Feud: Bette and Joan." It has brought to the fore a law called the Right to Publicity. Oral arguments in the case take place tomorrow.
