East Bay Congresswoman Barbara Lee said the president's remarks fit a familiar pattern of racism.

Earlier Friday, the president said on Twitter "this was not the language used," but Illinois Democrat Sen. Dick Durbin, who was present at the time, said “you’ve seen the comments in the press. I’ve not read one of them that’s inaccurate.”
