Surfing still helps Vietnam veterans heal the wounds of war: "It's a lot like going to therapy."
Over 40 years after returning from the Vietnam War, veterans touted the benefits of surfing as they gathered in Oceanside for the California Surf Museum's new exhibit, “China Beach: Surfers, the Vietnam War and the Healing of Wave-Riding.”
Vietnam offered soldiers a chance to surf while deployed overseas -- and while there's no surfing in Afghanistan and Iraq, I'm sure there are plenty of recent veterans who are hitting the waves.
