The death toll from wildfires raging across California keeps climbing. As of 4:00 p.m. today, Cal Fire is reporting:

  • At least 35 people dead
  • 5700 structures burned
  • 220,000 acres burned
  • 17 large fires
  • 90,000 evacuated

Thousands of firefighters continue to battle the catastrophic blazes that began Sunday night in the North Bay.

Meanwhile, the community has rallied to support those who have lost their homes or been evacuated. KQED's Monica Lam went to the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma to talk to evacuees and volunteers.
