Editor of Prison Newspaper Leaves Legacy Behind

California’s journalistic community buried one of its own this week. Arnulfo Garcia was editor-in-chief of the San Quentin News, a newspaper produced, written and edited by inmates. He formed the first and only chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists inside a prison. Just two months after his release from prison, at 65 years old, Garcia died in a car crash near Gilroy. He's remembered for accomplishments reached far beyond the prison newsroom.
