Today was Twitter's turn in the spotlight as company representatives appeared before the House and Senate intelligence committees to talk Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

And the Senate committee's top Democrat wasn't too impressed.

Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia said the information Twitter shared "was frankly inadequate on almost every level," and he suggested the social media giant doesn’t understand the seriousness of Congress’ investigation into Russian election interference.

Twitter, Facebook and Google haven't yet said whether they'll accept invitations to testify publicly before both the House and Senate intelligence panels later this fall.
