Wells Fargo says it opened 3.5 million fake accounts - 1.4 million more than the bank cited in September, 2016. Wells Fargo employees were under intense pressure to meet sales targets and often opened new accounts for customers without their permission.

Last month the bank said that approximately 570,000 customers were enrolled in car insurance they didn't need. As a result, about 20,000 cars were repossessed.
