KQED is partnering with KPCC and KPBS to do a statewide report on what education could look like in the era of Donald Trump, or what we’re calling Trump Ed.

California is likely to push back on much of the Trump/DeVos education reform agenda. This is not unique: California butted heads with the federal education department under the former Obama/Duncan administration, too.

But now the Golden State has a lot more at stake: its new school accountability system, Common Core academic standards in the classroom and hefty sums of federal education dollars that pay for afterschool programs and teacher preparation.
