We Went Through the Election Mail So You Wouldn't Have To

We know -- it's been a LONG election season. And your mailboxes are just as overwhelmed as you probably are.

So, KQED collected as many campaign mailers as we could get our hands on, and took on the tough task of sifting through them. Below, check out some of our favorites. It's by no means an exhaustive list -- we only got our hands on so many! -- and we'd love to see more, so if you have one that's noteworthy, tweet us a pic.

One of the best -- and most bizarre -- came from former Richmond City Councilman Jim Rogers, who christened himself a Pokemon, "Rogersmon," as he seeks another term on the East Bay city's leadership body. (In case you were on a deserted island earlier this year, Pokemon Go is a massively popular video game that blends virtual reality with the real world ):

Down the road in Silicon Valley, fliers sent out by two Democrats competing to represent Assembly District 24 also caught our eye.

First up, Vicki Veenker, who used the late, great Yogi Berra on her flier about traffic and crowding problems in Silicon Valley:

Supporters of her opponent, Marc Berman, went for an equally wholesome message: Vegetables. In a series of mailers, Berman's backers argued that his positions on fiscal and budget issues are akin to eating your veggies. Brussels and beets, to be exact. Maybe they're trying to appeal to the farmers market crowd?

And you didn't think you could get through this post without us mentioning Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, did you? Well, the state Democratic and Republican parties weren't going to let that slide.

We'll start with Clinton, This one was an email, but we had to give the California GOP credit for humor. This went out Wednesday, which was Clinton's birthday:

Not to be outdone, the state Democratic Party has been targeting several congressional seats currently held by Republicans in the hopes of flipping them to blue.  And you know they were going to bring Trump into it.

In Modesto, Democrats were busy linking congressman Jeff Denham with the GOP nominee. Denham has gotten heat for supporting Trump.

Rep. Jeff Denham is in Democrats' crosshairs. 

And in northern Los Angeles County and part of Ventura County, GOP congressman Steve Knight is being haunted by his past statements on this scratch-off mailer, also sent by the Democratic Party (that's right, it's like a real lotto ticket).
