The Hunters Fire has burned close to 700 acres in the Sierra foothills northwest of the town of Mariposa and west of Yosemite. Cal Fire is steadily containing the blaze, but in the process the agency says eight firefighters have been injured, including one crew member who suffered significant injuries in a chainsaw accident. The Women's Building on 18th Street in the Mission District is celebrating 35 years of women's organizing and empowerment. Owned and operated by women as a space to come together around the issues that affect them, the building has long been a safe space from discrimination and violence.
