A video of Lester Chambers being pushed hard to the ground on-stage at the Hayward Russell City Blues Festival on Saturday was posted on the legendary soul singer's Facebook page this afternoon. The attack, which comes at the end of the video at 4:18, shows Dinalynn Andrews Potter climbing on stage and pushing Chambers over during a performance of "People Get Ready."

News reports said that Chambers had dedicated the song to slain African American teenager Trayvon Martin, but that is not shown in the video. George Zimmerman, who shot and killed Martin, was acquitted by a Florida jury on Saturday.

The Bay Area News Group reported that Chambers' family is pressing police to file hate crime charges against Potter. Chambers' son Dylan posted a photo of Chambers with a big bruise on his back recovering from the attack at home.
