Supreme Court to Decide on Taking Up Prop. 8
The U.S. Supreme Court meets Friday to consider whether to take up Proposition 8, California's ban on same-sex marriage. Two lower federal courts have struck down Prop. 8. The measure's backers are asking the Supreme Court to reverse those decisions. The court is also considering several cases -- including one in California -- where federal courts have struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA.

Sex Abuse Issues Already Addressed, L.A. Unified Says
Less than a year after the state's biggest school district was engulfed in a sexual misconduct scandal at Miramonte elementary, L.A. Unified School District (LAUSD) says it has addressed the issues raised by a state audit released this week. The audit took a broad look at the way LAUSD handled recent sex abuse claims involving students, and found that in 144 instances, it took a year or more to inform state authorities, as required by law.

SF Homeless Youth Find Help at Larkin Street Youth Services
Ahead of World AIDS Day on Saturday, a new report from the Centers for Disease Control suggests many newly infected young people have no idea of their status. About a quarter of new infections happen to those ages 13 to 24. Host Rachael Myrow talks to Lara Tannenbaum and Rae Suber, two administrators at Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco, which helps homeless kids get off the streets and get tested.
