The first in the series of storms expected over the next few days has almost finished passing through San Francisco. But it's leaving SFO delays in its wake. The FAA reports that some arriving flights are delayed two and a half hours on average.
The dispatcher at SFO says late arrivals will also mean late departures for many flights as the day goes on. Twenty short-haul flights to west coast airports have been canceled. Do yourself a favor and check with your airline before heading to SFO.
The FAA's website is not showing any delays at Mineta-San Jose or Oakland Airports.
A second, more powerful system is expected to arrive on Friday, with rain and wind continuing through the weekend.
Some areas could see as much as 18 inches of rain over a five-day period. Wind gusts could reach as high as 70 mph.
