The credit rating agency Moody's says it's reviewing dozens of California cities for possible downgrades to their bond ratings. The firm is concerned about declining property tax revenues in the wake of the real estate crisis.

Two District Attorneys Present Competing Views on Death Penalty
If voters approve Proposition 34 this November, it would mark the end of capital punishment in California. Notorious felons would see their sentences converted to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The California Report's Scott Shafer recently sat down with two prominent district attorneys on opposite sides of the issue: San Francisco's George Gascon and Los Angeles's Steve Cooley.
