Student Photos of STAR Tests Delay Test Results
The results for this year's Standardized Testing and Reporting, or STAR, will be released at the end of August -- following investigations to determine how students at a dozen schools took photos of the exams and shared them on social media. It's only a two-week delay as far as the results are concerned, but some say this is a wake-up call to educators.

Bill Would Restrict 'Secure Communities' Enforcement
A bill that would limit local law enforcement in California in its cooperation with federal immigration authorities is expected to land on the governor's desk soon after lawmakers return from their summer recess. Whether or not the Trust Act becomes law, it's a strong political statement from the state with the largest population of immigrants here illegally.
