Yesteday, Grant Colfax, the San Francisco Health Department’s Director of HIV Prevention, was appointed the new Director of the Office of National AIDS Policy.

In 2010, as part of a special feature on The California Report called “Living with the Virus,” Sarah Varney spoke with Dr. Colfax about the approach to treating what is now a chronic disease but used to be tantamount to a death sentence. He also talked about the benefits of proactively taking anti-retroviral drugs and rapid HIV testing, which allows for results within 20 minutes. Listen here or below.
