Newt Gingrich is headlining the California GOP convention this weekend in Burlingame. The Chron's Joe Garofoli and Carla Marinucci sat down with the erstwhile frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination to discuss the following.
For years, Newt Gingrich has dropped the phrase “San Francisco Values.” It’s a laugh line/nod-in-agreement touchstone in conservative circles. But at the California Republican Party convention Saturday in Burlingame, we finally got to ask the former House Speaker and presidential candidate what exactly he means by that.
Here's the video, from a post called "Newt Gingrich and the the transvestite he met in San Francisco." The two Chron reporters actually get Gingrich to say that San Francisco is "a wonderful city" and "has a great quality of life."
