Oakland Shootings Cap Violent Weekend

(Bay City News) Two shootings on Sunday and one early this morning capped off a violent weekend in Oakland, police said.

Oakland police responded to reports of a shooting at around 1:30 a.m. today on the 5400 block of International Boulevard.

Officers found one victim at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Only about a mile away, police found another victim Sunday night.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 6400 block of Avenal Avenue at 9:40 p.m.

Earlier Sunday, two gunshot victims drove themselves to a hospital after they were shot on the 2300 block of High Street at around 1 p.m., police said.

The three shootings bring the number of total shootings in Oakland over the weekend to at least six.

Three were shot in two separate shootings on Saturday; one of the victims was killed.

A 25-year-old man was shot and killed on the 2600 block of Fruitvale Avenue Saturday afternoon around 3 p.m., police said.

Another shooting was reported later that night at 10:21 p.m. on the 1200 block of Seventh Street.

Two victims were found on the scene suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were transported to a local hospital where they are in stable condition.

Police have no suspects in Saturday's shootings.
