Update 11:30 a.m. KQED's Peter Jon Shuler attended a police press conference today about the arrest of a suspect in the Case of the Stolen Picasso (Caught on Video). Some details about the arrestee:
- The suspect's name is Mark Lugo, 30, from Hoboken, New Jersey.
- No prior serious arrests; one arrest in a minor alcohol-related incident.
- Acting alone, as far as police know.
- He was arrested in Napa, where he was visiting friends, who aren't suspected of complicity in the crime. The artwork was recovered there, without the frame.

That didn't take long.
In what was not a masterpiece of thievery, yesterday a man walked out of the Weinstein Gallery on Union Square with a Picasso drawing under his arm . Problem was that he was recorded on a security camera of Lefty O'Doul's, the restaurant next door. (Watch the video here.) The man fled in a cab, which the police later tracked down.
