A memorial for the two firefighters killed in a San Francisco fire last week is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Mayor Ed Lee and others are scheduled to speak.

Lieutenant Vince Perez, 48, and firefighter Anthony Valerio, 53, died from injuries sustained responding to a house fire in Diamond Heights.

The deaths represent the first time a San Francisco firefighter was killed in the line of duty since 2003, the first time one died in a fire since 1995, and the first time that more than one perished in a single blaze since 1946. Firefighters from all over the world are attending.

Local stations KRON and KGO are webcasting now. (If the embedded video doesn’t appear below, click on one of the preceeding links.)
