Geraldine Ferraro, Walter Mondale's running mate in the 1984 presidential election, died Saturday.
After the announcement of Ferraro's death, The California Report's Scott Shafer talked to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, whom Pelosi called a "dear, dear friend," about Ferraro's legacy, her personality, and the meaning of her historic run in 1984. Pelosi started out the conversation by saying she was "very sad," which struck me as a relatively unguarded comment from a career politician.
