UC Davis has posted a video connected to its census of white sharks cruising the Central California coast. The low count -- roughly 200 or so sharks -- surprised researchers.

The Merc has an article on the methods scientists used, which consisted basically of luring them close enough to small boats to have their pictures taken. (And you wanted to be a scientist...)

Here's one of the more unsuccessful attempts, undertaken by the census team's interns.
