They're going to need a really big ring for all the hats being thrown into it in the San Francisco Mayor's race. We just received this press release from Phil Ting, who apparently does not want to be the only politician in the city not being considered for the post.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Assessor-Recorder Phil Ting will begin organizing what he pledged would be “a different kind of political campaign focused on empowering San Franciscans to help make our city government work faster, fairer and smarter” today by filling to run for Mayor in the November 2011 election.

What: Phil Ting to Begin Organizing Campaign for San Francisco Mayor

Who: Assessor-Recorder Phil Ting, wife Susan and two young daughters

When: Today, Wednesday, December 1, 11am

Where: San Francisco Department of Elections, City Hall
1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place
San Francisco, CA 94102

As a side note: I think the hyphen in Phil Ting's title may hurt him, though I am not exactly sure why.
