Our Sacramento bureau chief, John Myers, is having a Twitter field today as he closely follows the state budget negotations and a possible vote. An hour ago he posted:

"Main budget bill comes up for first vote in the Assembly. It's 15 votes short of passage, and so is being put on hold."

His last post, 20 minutes ago:

Assembly is in recess as leaders go trolling for the votes they need. Senate has yet to convene. So for now, we're on pause.
