House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi
On Tuesday, President Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, was convicted on eight counts of tax and financial fraud, including covering up tens of millions of dollars in income earned while working for Ukrainian politicians. On the same day, the president’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, admitted in a plea deal that he had made payments to two women at the direction of then-candidate Donald Trump, saying that the payments were made with the intention of influencing the 2016 election. Separately, Southern California Republican congressman Duncan Hunter and his wife were indicted for misusing $250,000 in campaign funds for personal expenses. In the wake of these stunning developments, KQED Politics and Government Senior Editor Scott Shafer talked with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to get her perspective.
