NFL players who want to take a knee in protest will have to go to the locker room down the hall, according to a new league policy.
Started by San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick as a way to protest racism and police brutality, players refusing to stand during the national anthem became a common sight at NFL games.
The new policy states that, "a club will be fined by the League if its personnel are on the field and do not stand and show respect for the flag and the Anthem."
Kaepernick has been an unsigned free agent since 2017.
