In light of revelations of a massive mishandling of Facebook data, Speier calls for more regulation of social media companies. Also this week, the House Intelligence Committee concluded its Russia investigation, with Republican members saying they found no evidence of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign in the 2016 elections. But committee Democrats including Rep. Jackie Speier (D-San Mateo) say the committee overlooked many links between members of the Trump campaign and Russian-linked operatives.

Cambridge Analytica, a British consulting firm hired by the Trump campaign, reportedly harvested personal information from 50 million Facebook users without their consent.
