The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman for the San Francisco field office has quit, saying, "I didn't feel like fabricating the truth," after Trump administration officials reported more than 800 people evaded arrest because Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf warned of planned immigration raids.

ICE Deputy Director Thomas Homan, who has advocated criminally prosecuting politicians in sanctuary jurisdictions, said that because of Schaaf, "864 criminal aliens and public safety threats remain at large in the community."

Until they can refill the position vacated by the recently-departed spokesman, ICE officials announced they are "transitioning his responsibilities to other team members."
