People across the country are voting today, and even on this off-election year, many important races will be decided, including contests for state governorships and important issues at the local level. In light of the fact that voter turnout for off-year elections is notoriously low, here’s a great TED-Ed video based on a lesson by Nicki Beaman Griffin, who talks about the long road to achieving voting rights and offers some tools to take the conversation deeper.
