The San Francisco Chronicle’s new restaurant critic is shaking things up for her inaugural Top 100 Restaurants List. For one thing, it’s not only hers — Soleil Ho involved other Chronicle Food and Wine staffers in compiling her list of the best restaurants in the Bay Area. But perhaps more strikingly, in compiling this year’s list, Ho factored in allegations of sexual harassment and assault, worker wages and other parity issues. Ho also compared restaurants within price brackets and expanded the list’s coverage of East Bay eateries. We’ll talk with Ho about the Top 100 and ask: what makes a restaurant one of the “best”?
