The Supreme Court on Tuesday is taking up a California case about whether immigrants who are legal permanent residents can be held in detention indefinitely by the federal government while they fight deportation. Critics argue that it is an unconstitutional violation of due process to hold a person without a hearing for possible release, but argues that non-citizens don’t have that right. This is a Forum special broadcast from Washington D.C.
