California is a state of superlatives: the most people, the biggest economy. But when it comes to influence in presidential primaries, it’s been an underachiever. That’s about to change: Gov. Jerry Brown has signed a bill moving the state’s June primary elections to early March, starting in 2020. We’ll discuss what the change might mean for voter turnout, down-ballot races and third party candidates.
