In his new book, ‘Freud: The Making of an Illusion’ UC Berkeley professor emeritus Frederick Crews shows how Sigmund Freud’s ambitious nature came to overshadow the work he championed. Crews argues that Freud covered up errors and manipulated findings to protect his reputation and position in the burgeoning field of psychotherapy. Crews joins us to discuss his book and why Freud’s reputation as the father of psychoanalysis persists despite evidence to the contrary.
